No Big Ten vote Sunday according to FOX Sports’ Bruce Feldman

According to sources that spoke to FOX Sports’ Bruce Feldman, no Big Ten vote to start the football season this fall is expected Sunday.

I know, I know, the misery continues. Despite speculation and other reports pointing to some potential splendid news on Sunday when it comes to Ohio State and Big Ten football, it appears the whole college football universe will have to wait a bit longer.

That’s because according to FOX Sports’ Bruce Feldman, a well-connected source familiar with the situation has informed him that there will not be a Big Ten vote Sunday.

It appears it was a very productive meeting Sunday with all 14 Conference Presidents and Chancellors, but not productive enough to record an official vote and make every college football fan from here to Mars happy.

Multiple reports have confirmed that a meeting between the Big Ten’s Steering Committee and Medical Subcommittee was extremely positive and paved the way for a meeting of all of the university presidents and chancellors today, but that appears to be the extent of it.

Many felt an official word could come this evening with some very positive movement towards the reinstatement of the fall Big Ten football season. There would be more to work out of course, but the news was supposed to come with a target date of October 17 to begin play.

However, as has been the case with this whole thing all along, it’s a wait and see affair. We shouldn’t be surprised at this point I guess.

A vote could still take place tomorrow and end all the speculation. Stay tuned once again.
