The Green Bay Packers won’t have starting offensive lineman Billy Turner or first-round pick Jordan Love among their active 48 players for Sunday’s season opener against the Minnesota Vikings.
Turner hurt his knee during a scrimmage on Aug. 30 and was listed as doubtful for Week 1.
The team will also be without defensive lineman Montravius Adams and safety Raven Greene, who were both listed on the final injury report Friday.
Without Turner, the Packers will likely start veteran Rick Wagner at right tackle. He started 87 career games at right tackle with the Baltimore Ravens and Detroit Lions before signing a two-year deal with the Packers entering 2020.
Without Adams and Greene, the Packers will lack some depth along the defensive line and at safety. Greene is also Mike Pettine’s go-to player as the hybrid linebacker in dime packages, meaning Oren Burks could be on the field more Sunday.
Love, the 26th overall pick, is officially the No. 3 quarterback behind Aaron Rodgers and Tim Boyle. He’s inactive for his first NFL game.
Another moderate surprise is receiver Equanimeous St. Brown, who is inactive. Malik Taylor, believed to be the No. 5 receiver, is active.
Outside linebacker Tipa Galeai and tight end John Lovett, who were elevated from the practice squad on Saturday, are both active.
