Report: Big Ten could vote as early as Friday on fall football fate

According to a report from Dave Biddle of Bucknuts, the Big Ten could re-vote as early as Friday on the fate of a fall football season.

It’s the story every Ohio State and Big Ten football fan is following. Is it all just smoke, or is there a fire of momentum behind the conference re-visiting a fall football season?

We’ve heard multiple reports now that the Big Ten is reconsidering its decision to look towards January or even fall to kick-off a season. Various timelines are now out there, with the earliest being October 10, and the latest fall date being around Thanksgiving.

At this point, OSU fans would take either of the two.

Whichever way it goes, it does seem as though this isn’t just several media outlets blowing hot air looking for clicks. There’s plenty of reputable sources that are claiming there are real talks going on.

The timing of it all is very critical, especially if a fall season is going to get off the ground. And according to Dave Biddle of Bucknuts (subscription required), we could be hearing something very soon, like end of this week soon.

According to Biddle, he has learned that a re-vote by the Big Ten could occur as early as Friday. If you’re looking at your calendar, that’s just one day from now (assuming you’re reading this on Thursday).

So I guess we’ll continue to stay tuned here. It seems like every day we get a new story, source, or timetable about the potential for a real, live Big Ten football season coming to a television set or streaming device near you as soon as the fall.

As more becomes available, we’ll be all over it like khakis on a Harbaugh.
