After being released from the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center on Monday, defensive tackle Haskel Garrett finally spoke out Tuesday by way of a statement on his Twitter profile.
Garrett was reportedly walking near campus over the weekend when he saw a man and woman arguing aggressively. He intervened and tried to break up the fight and was shot by the male in the “cheeks of the face.” From there, Columbus Police saw a bullet casing and a trail of blood that led to Garrett near a friend’s house.
At this point, that’s all that is known and available, and there are no suspects. Garrett took time to thank all of those that assisted or wished him well. You can read his full statement below.
