In case you missed it, reports surfaced yesterday from UGA insiders that Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields was at an intrasquad Georgia scrimmage in Athens over the weekend. The internet and message boards then went abuzz — especially Dawg fans that started brewing up conspiracy theories about a potential transfer.
You can’t really blame Georgia fans who are giddy about the prospects of a Heisman front-runner coming back to the program, but we’re here to tell you not to worry Buckeye fans. Despite all the uncertainty of the season in the Big Ten and at Ohio State, this appears to just be a case of Fields checking in and visiting with former teammates.
Remember, Fields is from Kennesaw, Georgia which is just an hour and a half away from the Georgia campus.

Fields has also fallen in love with Ohio State and would do about anything to play in the Scarlet and Gray again. And there’s good reason why the reigning Big Ten Player of the Year left UGA in the first place.
“My love for the game. My love for college football. My love for my teammates.
This situation is not only making us realize that we have a voice, but it’s also bringing us together.”

Even if all the stars were to align and Fields had a change of heart and thought about finishing up the round-trip ticket back to Athens, there are some important timing considerations here. There simply is not enough time to get transfer paperwork through and an NCAA waiver approved in time for a season that’s going to kick-off in about a month.
Relax. Take a deep breath, and go eat a bowl of cereal.
