After the first week of training camp, five Atlanta Falcons players were placed the NFL’s reserve/COVID-19 list. Despite this setback, Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan is expecting big things from the offense this season.
Ryan spoke with CBS Sports last week about his early impressions of the team’s new running back Todd Gurley, saying the former Georgia star “looked great moving around.”
It’s not just Gurley that has Ryan optimistic for 2020, though. Third-year wide receiver Calvin Ridley could also be on the verge of a breakout season, according to Atlanta’s former MVP QB.
Watch Ryan discuss his expectations for Ridley in the video below, as shared by CBS Sports HQ’s Twitter account:
"I think he's going to be a guy that gets a lot of one-on-one opportunities because of the supporting cast. @CalvinRidley1 is going to make people pay because of it."
