While he had a rough start in the Boston Celtics second exhibition scrimmage of the Disney restart as far as shooting goes, All-Star forward Jayson Tatum put together a quality performance in the second of three such exhibition scrimmages.
The foe — a slightly hobbled Phoenix Suns playing without former Celtic big man Aron Baynes — lost the friendly 117 – 103, and the Duke product’s offensive wizardry was no small part of the reason why.
After a little early difficulty finding the bottom of the net Sunday, The St. Louis native strung together 16 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal over 28 and a half minutes of play.
He showed flashes of the absurd shots he was making before the hiatus, and generally looked much more the part of a star ascendant than he did on Friday against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
But then everyone on Boston’s roster looked rusty for that game, save perhaps Jaylen Brown.
