J.K. Dobbins expected to do big things according to his Madden rating

Former Ohio State running back J.K. Dobbins is expected to be pretty good in his rookie campaign according to his Madden ’21 rating.

Chances are, if you like Ohio State football, you are an American football fan overall and enjoy some good ‘ole NFL action as well. And … if you like the NFL, there’s a good chance you like the most popular NFL gaming franchise out there — EA Sports’ Madden.

It’s that time of year when the anticipation for the release of the new Madden version comes out, and with it, we get a peek at some of the ratings for former Buckeye players — especially the rookies that are about to hit the virtual gridiron.

And on that note, former Ohio State running back J.K. Dobbins has a pretty high rating for a rookie running back. In fact, the single-season rushing yards record holder in Columbus is the highest-rated rookie running back according to a graphic from FOX College Football.

Remember, Dobbins slipped to the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft despite being given a late first-round grade by most experts. He was the fifth running back selected and went to the Baltimore Ravens as one of the potential steals of the draft.

It’s not that Madden ratings always equate to success on the field, but the last Ohio State running back to be the highest-rated rookie ball carrier was Ezekiel Elliott with a much-higher Madden ’17 rating of 84.

Madden ’21 is set to be released on August 25. Hopefully, it’s not the only football we’ll see being played on a television set near you this fall.
