Ohio State football has best winning percentage against ranked teams over last decade

According to research performed by FOX College Football, Ohio State has the best winning percentage over ranked teams this past decade.

It’s no secret that Ohio State has been piling up wins over the last decade or so. In fact, it has now vaulted all the way up to No. 1 in FBS winning percentage all-time, and winning at least ten and eleven games per year is just expected now.

But what about when it comes to ranked teams? It’s one thing to beat up on MAC schools and in-state opponents, or perennial non-ranked Big Ten teams. How does OSU fare when the teams it plays has a number next to its name?

According to FOX College Football, very well. So well in fact, that the Buckeyes have the best winning percentage of any program over ranked teams during the last ten years at 77.8 percent. That is flat out getting it done and outpaces a top five of Alabama (77.3), LSU (68.4), Clemson (66.7), and Oklahoma (64.7).

You can view the rest of the top ten below. It’s crazy that there are actually only eight teams that even have an over .500 record against ranked teams in the last decade. Also, Ohio State has played four of those programs over the last ten years.

So, when people like to tell you that Ohio State doesn’t play anyone, remember, you have to play ranked teams to beat them. And when the Buckeyes do, they’ve been more successful than any other program in walking away a winner.
