Alabama men’s basketball’s redshirt sophomore forward, Javian Davis, has entered the NCAA transfer portal, according to AL.com’s Matt Zenitz.
Davis appeared in 31 games in the 2019-2020 college basketball season, where he averaged six points per game, a field goal percentage of 59.4% and averaged almost four rebounds per game.
With the addition of recent top commit Alex Tchikou, Nate Oats doesn’t have any available scholarships to give out. However, if Davis does decide to transfer, and John Petty stays in the NBA Draft, there would be two potential scholarships to offer.
Davis is not the first player from the 2019 team to transfer before the start of the 2020 season. Former Alabama forward Galin Smith announce he will be transferring to Maryland to continue his basketball career, guard Jaylen Forbes transferred to Tulane, while center Raymond Hawkins will be playing at Long Beach State.
While it is sad to see players leave the Crimson Tide, it’s an amazing sight to see Nate Oats recruit elite talent to Tuscaloosa. Rivals.com has the 2020 Alabama basketball recruiting class listed as No. 9 in the nation.
