Countdown to Texas Football: No. 91-94

There are 91 days until the college football season gets underway. For the Texas Longhorns they will be hosting the South Florida Bulls. In continuing the countdown to kickoff series, we take a look at the players who wore numbers 91-94.

Number 94

Chris McDaniel wore the number from 1975-77.

No current Longhorn wears number 94.

Number 93

Eric Holle wore the number in 1983 where he was an All-SWC Defensive End.

T’Vondre Sweat wore 93 for the Longhorns in 2019. Sweat is going into his sophomore season. As a freshman he appeared in 13 games recording nine tackles, one sack and one fumble recovery.

Number 92

James Patton wore number 92 at the University of Texas in 1990-91. In those two seasons, Patton was named first team All-SWC and the team MVP in 1991. He went on to play in the NFL for the Buffalo Bills until 1995.

Myron Warren currently has the number 92, he didn’t play in 2019. He redshirted his first year.

Number 91

Kheeston Randall played in Texas from 2008-11 and was part of the BCS National Championship runner up team in 2010. During his time, Randall started 35 games while playing in 47 games total. During that four years he recorded 98 total tackles with 49 being of the solo variety. He also tallied 21 tackles for loss (TFL), six passes defended, one forced fumble and two blocked kicks.

Randall was selected by the Miami Dolphins in the seventh round of the 2012 NFL Draft. He only recorded eight total tackles between Miami and Cincinnati in two seasons in the NFL. He joined the Vikings in 2014 but never played a down for them. Randall would be released before the start of the season.

Sawyer Goram-Welch is an incoming freshman and will wear number 91. He played his high school football at East Texas powerhouse Longview High School.
