Ohio State picked to make the College Football Playoff by College Football News

College Football News has come out with its bowl projections and has Ohio State reaching the Rose Bowl and College Football Playoff.

Hopefully we’ll have college football that starts on time this fall because Ohio State is set up to have another team that can do some pretty special things. The bar is always set high at a place like OSU, but with the weapons on offense surrounding preseason Heisman candidate Justin Fields, winning a fourth-straight Big Ten championship and making it to the College Football Playoff is a real possibility once again.

On that note, College Football News has come out with its 2020 college football bowl projections, including the fearsome four that will be a part of all the playoff fun. And, it has Ohio State in a pretty sweet spot. In fact, one that fans with “Buckeye Battle Cry” ringtones will be pretty giddy about.

That’s because CFN has the Buckeyes making it to the “granddaddy of them all” again in Pasadena at the Rose Bowl. Yes, it is in the rotation fo the semifinals of the College Football Playoff this year, meaning if Ohio State wins the Big Ten and is in position to be one of the top four at the end of the season CFP Rankings, that’ll be the likely destination.

But who does Pete Fiutak have playing opposite the Buckeyes? How about the Georgia Bulldogs, a team Ohio State has only faced off once with in history (a win by Georgia in the 1993 Citrus Bowl).

The other semifinal this year is Allstate Sugar Bowl, where CFN projects Alabama and Clemson to face off again. To take it a step further, Fiutak then projects Ohio State and the Tide to face off for national championship glory.

This is, of course, all speculation and opinion at this point, but going to the Rose Bowl as a part of the CFP would be a dream scenario for the Big Ten’s champion. Let’s hope that’s the Buckeyes again.
