Although Tua Tagovailoa and Saquon Barkley won’t face each other in a regular season matchup of the 2020 NFL season, the two faced off on Tuesday night for charity. Tagovailoa and Barkley played each other in “Madden NFL 20” as part of Verizon’s “Pay It Forward Live” campaign.
“Pay It Forward Live” is an event that happens twice a week on a livestream that stars the biggest names in entertainment and sports in support of small businesses.
Tagovailoa played as the Dolphins and Barkley played as the Giants.
Tonight on #PayItForwardLIVE, @Saquon gave rookie @Tua a sneak peak at life in the @NFL and started a #Madden20 rivalry in the process. Thank you @Saquon, @Tua and host @RobRiggle for joining us to help small businesses! https://t.co/vgSNTsRHHw

To be fair, they both won a game, but let’s just focus on Tua’s win in game one, 13-7. Which everyone agrees is the one that counts anyways.
This was so fun to watch. You really get to see Tua’s personality shine, and got to hear about his journey and excitement to get to Miami. Even when Tua makes a mistake, he just laughs and gets focused the next play.
Two of Tua’s highlights in the game came from a user interception by Bobby McCain, as well as a deep 50-yard touchdown pass to Jakeem Grant down the sidelines.
And good news for Dolphins fans, Tagovailoa played the game as Ryan Fitzpatrick, so it’ll be even more exciting what Tua can do in Miami himself.
For the season, Tagovailoa threw for 2,840 yards, 33 touchdowns and 3 interceptions.
In his career at Alabama, Tagovailoa racked up 7,442 yards passing, 87 TDs and 11 INTs.
