Many draft analysts like AJ Epenesa’s fit in the Buffalo Bills defense.
Oddsmakers apparently do too.
BetOnline released the opening odds for the NFL’s Defensive Rookie of the Year Award. Despite not being selected until the second round of the 2020 draft, Epenesa is among the favorites to win the honor.
His 20/1 odds are tied for the fifth-best of any rookie. Epenesa shares that number with Lions cornerback Jeff Okudah, who was the third-overall pick and second-overall defender taken in the draft.
Speaking of that, the first defender taken, Redskins pass rusher Chase Young at No. 2, is the overall favorite at 5/1 odds. The only others between Young and Epenesa are three linebackers, the Cardinals’ Isaiah Simmons (8/1), the Chargers’ Kenneth Murray (14/1) and the Ravens’ Patrick Queen (14/1).
