The New York Giants have put an emphasis on providing fans with more content during the COVID-19 pandemic, which has essentially shut down the sports world.
However, the team released a “Pick 3” Twitter poll on Thursday that sparked immediate debate about whether or not they intentionally slighted former wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., who currently plays for the Cleveland Browns.
In the poll, the Giants asked fans to pick three players — one quarterback, one running back and one wide receiver.
Noticeably absent from the wide receiver section was Beckham.
You can only pick 3. One from each category. GO! pic.twitter.com/FhI5kMCEW1

Within minutes, the pot-stirring had begun and Twitter was ripping the organization for the Beckham omission, which many believed was deliberate.
You: the NFC South is so petty on Twitter

Quick! Look! An opportunity to make a mountain out of a molehill!
In a world dominated by the desire to be outraged, apparently some didn’t take a moment to sit back and think about the reality that Beckham is an active player for another NFL team — a team that will play the Giants in 2020.
A quick look over the players included in the Giants’ poll shows they are either active members of the team or retired members of the team. And sure, some will argue that no active player other than OBJ is warranted, but that’s semantic nonsense designed to embrace the triggering.
No hate RG. Odell is a current player for another team. All the players on this list is either retired or still a Giant https://t.co/dS5q20vhEB

The fake outrage has become exhausting — especially since the majority of those complaining about OBJ’s omission also complain when articles are written about OBJ.
Oh, and by the way, we’re choosing Eli Manning, Plaxico Burress and Saquon Barkley.
