Lions’ Darius Slay admitted he had ‘no chill’ about his blatant trade demands on Twitter

Could you blame him?

Lions cornerback Darius Slay wanted out of Detroit, and he wasn’t even trying to hide it. In fact, he’s practically been yelling about it on Twitter, and it’s pretty funny because, really, could you blame him?

Amid this week’s free agency craze, the Lions signed former Atlanta Falcons cornerback Desmond Trufant, and that was good news to 29-year-old Slay, who’s been the subject of trade rumors since last season. The three-time Pro Bowler congratulated Trufant in response to ESPN reporter Adam Schefter’s tweet about the news.

And then he added his own analysis about what the Lions’ move could mean for him — or, perhaps, just some wishful thinking.

Well, maybe it worked because Thursday morning, according to multiple reports the Lions traded Slay to the Philadelphia Eagles for third- and fifth-round 2020 NFL Draft picks. Here’s how he reacted to the big news:

But Wednesday night on Twitter, Slay — who has a $10 million base salary in the last year of his current deal, per NFL.com — didn’t stop there with his wishful thinking. As Lions teammates and other NFL players goaded and encouraged him, he hilariously doubled down on his trade demands.

However, he also clarified his love for Detroit fans, but he, understandably, wants out of the dysfunctional franchise with which with which he repeatedly clashed.
