Going into opening weekend, the Alabama Crimson Tide softball team was the No. 1 team in the country, but after going 1-3 in opening weekend in Tallahassee, Florida with two losses to Florida State and going 1-1 against North Carolina, Alabama dropped to No. 9 in the newest NCAA softball rankings.

After signing her NLI with Alabama softball in November and enrolling at UA for the spring semester, freshman Abby Doerr has been cleared by the NCAA to join the Crimson Tide and is immediately eligible for the 2020 season

Alabama returns to Florida this weekend for the St. Pete/Clearwater Elite Invitational on Feb. 13-15. There, the Tide will play five games against Liberty, Washington, USF, UCLA and Oklahoma State.
