The Washington Capitals released their video Christmas card this week, and it’s a delightfully ridiculous serenade of All I Want for Christmas Is You in honor of the team puppy, Captain.
The video features a parade of ugly sweaters, players showing off their musical talents (like Alex Ovechkin playing the accordion and Braden Holtby on the xylophone) and, of course, Captain dressed up like a reindeer.
There is just so much going on here, from the impeccably decorated locker room to winger Tom Wilson playing a drum to the falling snow filter to forwards Garnet Hathaway and Nic Dowd’s matching onesies popping up to defenseman John Carlson’s “Bite Me” Christmas sweater. Plus, Ovechkin’s actual sweater with a giant cat on it. And Captain front and center for the whole spectacle — and singing!
Made our wish come true, Captain all we wanted for Christmas was you 🎶 pic.twitter.com/c5J4OYLaJd

It’s almost overwhelming, but it’s also fabulous.
The video and shoot also led to some truly festive GIFs of the Capitals and Captain.
