Why Lorenzo Alexander won’t say how Bills slowed Lamar Jackson down

Bills linebacker Lorenzo Alexander doubled down on Friday.

Following the Bills’ 24-17 loss to the Baltimore Ravens last week, Alexander said he believes the Bills will see the Ravens again in the playoffs. Speaking to the team’s radio show, Alexander was posed with the question, how did Buffalo stop Lamar Jackson the way they did?

Alexander was having none of it and repeated past sentiments.

“I really don’t [want to answer]. I plan on seeing him again, so I don’t want to say anything, let them figure it out,” Alexander said. “I thought it was two great teams matching up. They made more plays and came up winning against us, but feel I still have great confidence in this team, but I feel we are going to put ourselves in position to get in the playoffs and most likely find a way to play them again.”

Along with Alexander, other teammates such as defensive end Jerry Hughes and linebacker Matt Milano expressed a thought that the Bills might see the Ravens again this year.

“Collect the tape tomorrow, come in, get that watched, and then, probably face them again later in the season,” Milano said Sunday.

While Alexander wouldn’t reveal the secret sauce, he did give a little bit of insight. If the Bills and Ravens do meet again, he said the emphasis will be on takeaways.

“We definitely had the formula to beat them. The biggest difference I think in last week’s game was the turnover margin. Obviously we broke even, and any time you play an elite team like this, you have to win the turnover (margin),” Alexander said.
