Players respect Josh Allen, AJ Epenesa

Of all Bills players, two of their young guys have gotten some solid praise from their peers over the course of the past month. The No.1 on the list is quarterback Josh Allen. Recently Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliot went right out on a limb for the Bills QB.

A fan asked Elliott incorrectly why Allen has more touchdowns than him over the past two seasons (he actually doesn’t), but Zeke’s response? “Josh Allen is a beast, that’s why.”

That’s only the start, some former NFLers have praised Allen throughout the month. First, future Hall of Famer in Peyton Manning said he had a meeting with Buffalo’s QB room, among other teams. Manning said Allen stood out because of how eager he was to step up as a leader. In addition, another ex-NFLer, this time more famously known as an analyst, Chris Simms, slotted Allen pretty nicely in his yearly quarterback rankings. Allen moved up a few slots from his spot in Simms’ ranking last year, to No. 18.

And then there’s AJ Epenesa. We don’t know how the invites are sent out, but we do know Broncos star Von Miller holds a “pass rush summit” each offseason. He brings together some current and former pass-rushing greats. Who was invited? The Bills’ rookie. That’s pretty sweet.
