DE Bryan Cox Jr.
We’ve heard plenty of good about Bryan Cox Jr. recently in training camp. He’s getting into the backfield consistently and is certainly in the running for the Bills’ No. 4 defensive end spot in their rotation along the D-line. Even with a promising camp so far, Cox will have to keep it up. The Bills have to see him consistently put in good play on the field to be confident in keeping him over the likes of someone such as Trent Murphy.
DE Darryl Johnson
Darryl Johnson’s status is pretty much cut and paste from Cox. In 2019, Johnson was that No. 4 guy. But with the additions of AJ Epenesa and Mario Addison, he’s pushed down the depth chart and it’s going to be tough for him to make the roster now. Throughout last season, Johnson continued to lose snaps as the Bills only really ran a rotation with three edge defenders. One leg up he might have over the likes of Cox is his work in the team’s scrimmage last week. Johnson impressed, Cox missed that day of practice.
