Sony, Lamar return
One of the bigger names on the Patriots offense left after the departure of quarterback Tom Brady is running back Sony Michel. Michel returned to practice on Wednesday, according to Patriots Wire.
Earlier this offseason, Michel had surgery on his foot and spent the start of training camp recovering from that injury. It’s the third consecutive season he’s missed time during training camp. The past two years, he missed time with knee injuries. In Michel’s absence this year, running back Damien Harris has gotten a major workload at practice, per P/W.
Early last week the Patriots also had veteran Lamar Miller at practice for the first time, activating him off the PUP list. He signed a one-year deal with the Patriots recently. Miller was recovering from an ACL tear which he suffered in training camp with the Houston Texans in 2019. The Pats backfield also includes James White and Rex Burkhead, a very packed room.
