Leadership side

One thing that’s big in the locker room of Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott is comradery and leadership. While not a grizzled vet such as Kyle Williams, Frank Gore or Lorenzo Alexander, the Bills’ newest Williams has put that aspect on display in the past.

Last season the Panthers added Greg Little. He was a similar draft pick to Buffalo’s Cody Ford. Potentially a first-round pick who fell into the early second round and the Panthers traded up for him. The exact same things as the Bills and Ford. A guy like that was certainly a threat to take playing time from Williams and at times the two did rotate with the first-team offense.

But despite knowing Little could take his job or cut into his playing time, Williams was a guy tasked with taking Little under his wing and helping the rookie, something he was very open to doing.

“Yeah, exactly [Little has sought his help],” Williams said at training camp. “And then if he don’t look for me for help then I’ll go up to him and give him some wisdom or knowledge.”

The Bills will love adding that to their locker room.
