Impressive college honors
The Panthers made Klein a mid-round pick out of Iowa State. Prior to the 2013 NFL Draft Klein was described as a player with strong instincts and knowledge of the game. For what it’s work, he majored in Kinesiology—Physical Therapy there.
On the field he was even more impressive, notching 361 career tackles in school. Klein earned recognition for his skills. He was the Big 12 Co-Defensive Player of the Year following the 2011 season. He also earned first-team All-Big 12 honors in both 2011 and 2012.
Honestly that shouldn’t have been surprisng as his high school career was pretty ridiculous as well. In his home state of Wisconsin, he won back-to-back Division II state championships and Klein’s high school team’s overall record while he was there was a ridiculous 37-1.
