Anfernee Jennings | Alabama
While not exactly explosive off the line, Anfernee Jennings will provide some power against opponents which makes him an appealing player to NFL teams. Many analysts covet his football IQ, which helps make up for that burst you’d really like to see at times. Jennings has a knack for being quick when applying counter moves on blockers and knows how to get his hands up and block a pass. His hand placement in general is also praised.
But Jennings isn’t exactly praised for being the most athletic type of edge defender you’d like, often being criticized for being stiff and getting knocked away by more powerful blockers. In the pros, they’re all powerful. He also has a worrisome injury history, having suffered a high-ankle sprain and PCL and artery damage in his leg that nearly required amputation, with both injuries having taken place in 2018.
