New York Jets
Another swing at it
Remember Christian Hackenberg? Maybe not because he never appeared in a regular season game for the Jets. But at one time, he was a very highly-touted quarterback out of high school and early in college at Penn State. He finished his college career struggling, but the Jets still overdrafted him in the second round of the 2016 draft.
Eventually he jumped around from some practice squads, was yanked from games in the short-lived AAF, and now, is going the route of Tim Tebow. Hackenberg announced this weekend he’s hoping to return to professional sports… as a baseball player.
“I just want to compete,” Hackenberg said via NFL.com. “I kind of have had my trials and tribulations with the NFL and had success and had that roller-coaster ride. At the end of the day, I’m sitting here at 25. I feel like I got a lot left in the tank.”
Good luck!
