The Buffalo Bills are poised to make a good run in 2020. With the way the current offseason has unfolded, the Bills are the favorite in the AFC East and are a team that could turn some heads in the postseason.
Little ol’ Buffalo isn’t seeming too small on the football field nowadays, is it?
With that off-field hype often comes one honor in particular for players: the Pro Bowl.
The Bills have had a talented defense in recent years, but you might be surprised by the names of some of their players that haven’t cracked the game. And if their already stout defense hasn’t garnered those looks, their now up-and-coming offense will hope to follow suit.
With that, here are six players on the Bills with a prime look to make their first Pro Bowl in 2020:
OL Dion Dawkins
Currently Dion Dawkins is entering a contract year with the Bills, those always get a player going. But we’ll actually hope that’s not the case once the season actually starts. Translation: He signs a long-term extension.
Aside from that, there’s still reason to think Dawkins can crack his first Pro Bowl. First, he was Pro Football Focus’ 25th-best ranked offensive tackle from a year ago. That includes tackles on both the left and right side of the offensive line, so really, that’s a pretty solid mark for Dawkins. In addition, this is going to be a year of continuity, not craziness around Dawkins on the Bills’ offensive line he’s had in the past. When Richie Incognito and Eric Wood stood pat next to him following his rookie year, Dawkins was solid. Then everyone regressed in 2018 because of the madness the swallowed the O-line. In 2019, everyone next to Dawkins was new, and everyone is finally returning next to him. That could benefit Dawkins the most among all the Bills’ blockers.
