QB Josh Allen

Rating: 77 overall

Does Josh Allen deserve to be among the best video game quarterbacks? No, not at all. But like often times in other lists and rankings involving NFL QBs, Allen looks to be slotted in a lower spot as compared to some of his peers than he deserves.

In the game, Allen’s barely ranked better than guys like Jameis Winston (76) and Joe Burrow (76). One a backup, one a guy who hasn’t even take a snap yet. And don’t tell us being the first-overall pick justifies that. Every No.1 pick is always great, right? Wrong.

On the flip, other signal-callers ranked slight better than Allen in the game, such as Cam Newton (78), Baker Mayfield (78) and Derek Carr (79), are better than him when there’s a slew of questions about their abilities, and they haven’t proven much more than Allen, a playoff quarterback, on the field in recent memory, at least. Newton’s MVP season was a long time ago now.

After a questionable rookie season, Madden 20 saw Allen slot in at a 74 overall. Much more fair. But Allen deserved a better bump than that this year.
