5-star safety Trey McNutt sets commitment date with Oregon Ducks among favorites

The Oregon Ducks are among the final school in contention for 5-star S Trey McNutt, who announced his commitment date on Wednesday.

Earlier this month, the Oregon Ducks got a pair of back-to-back 5-star commitments with the likes of CB Dorian Brew and WR Dakorien Moore announcing that they were joining the Ducks.

Now, it looks like the same thing could happen later this month as well.

On Wednesday morning, 5-star safety Trey McNutt announced that he will officially be making his commitment on July 19th, choosing between Oregon, Ohio State, Florida, USC, and Texas A&M.

McNutt is rated by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 19 overall player in the 2025 class, and the No. 1 safety in the nation. He is currently favored to pick the Ducks, with a 78.1% lead in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.

The other 5-star defensive back scheduled to commit that week is CB DJ Pickett, another player who is currently projected to end up with the Ducks. Pickett, the No. 6 overall player and No. 2 CB in the 2025 class, will announce his commitment on July 17th.

Will it be another double-Duck 5-star week for Dan Lanning?

It certainly looks that way at this point.
