The Oregon Ducks weren’t able to land him initially, but after staying persistent, Dan Lanning ultimately got the prize.
5-star EDGE rusher Elijah Rushing announced his commitment to the Ducks on Monday. Rushing is rated by 247Sports as the No. 14 overall player in the 2024 class, and the No. 2 EDGE rusher in the nation.
Throughout almost the entirety of his recruitment, Rushing was considered a lock to commit to the Ducks. However, the No. 1 prospect from Arizona surprised a lot of people when he committed to the Arizona Wildcats instead.
Unsurprisingly, Lanning didn’t let up in the recruitment, and after a couple of months, Rushing announced that he would be decommitting from the Wildcats in early October.
Rushing now joins an Oregon class that is ranked in the top 10 in the nation, and looks to be one of the strongest defensive classes that the Ducks have ever signed.
