Bills defense stops Jets opening drive

Between both the offense and defense, the Bills’ starters played about two series worth of time. Aside from cornerback Tre’Davious White, who was inactive for the game, the rest of the team’s starting defense was out there on the Jets’ opening drive of the game.

The drive ended with the first of two missed field goals by Jets kicker Sam Ficken. While the Bills would’ve loved to not let the Jets into field goal range, that’s still a solid outing for Buffalo’s starters. While the Jets have not been a good offense this year, they’ve played very good on their opening drives. Those are scripted by the team, typically, then play-calling comes into the picture. Per Jets Wire, the Jets have scored seven times on opening drives this season. The Jets have averaged 10.8 plays and 74.8 yards per opening drive. That means the Bills pretty much held them well. A positive to take from this one.
