The NFL has released its first update on Pro Bowl Games fan voting.
Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes (87,384) and TE Travis Kelce (85,785) are second and third place in total votes, trailing only Minnesota Vikings WR Justin Jefferson (90,313). As a team, the Chiefs have the third-most Pro Bowl Games fan votes behind only the Vikings and Baltimore Ravens.
A total of five Chiefs players currently lead the AFC conference in fan voting at their specific position group. Mahomes and Kelce, obviously, lead their position groups. Chris Jones leads the AFC defensive tackles, which should come as no surprise given the impressive season that he’s having. There are also two players leading their groups, who would be first-time Pro Bowlers in 2022. Creed Humphrey is currently leading all centers and Isiah Pacheco is leading all return specialists in the AFC conference.
Last season, Humphrey was the leader for the AFC at the center position when fan voting concluded in 2021, yet he was snubbed of Pro Bowl selection. That’s because the fan vote only counts for a third of the Pro Bowl selection process, with players and coach voting counting for the other two-thirds of the vote.
