What if Cameron Dicker missed the GW field goal against Kansas?
On more of a negative note, what if Cameron Dicker had missed the game-winning field goal kick against the Jayhawks?
One of the most reliable kickers in the country, thankfully he did not miss the kick. But if he did, it would have had been bad news for the Longhorns. It would have dropped Texas to a poor 4-3 record and their second loss against a pitiful Kansas team in four seasons.
It would have been a brutal loss before a stretch where they played three of their final five games on the road against some of the top teams in the conference. The season could have spiraled out of control, possibly being the last straw for Head Coach Tom Herman.
Even though the kick went through, it was a bad game for Texas. Coming off a loss in the Red River Shootout, the Longhorns allowed 569 total yards, letting running back Pooka Williams rush for 190 yards. After that kind of performance, if it had resulted in a loss, coaches would have been fired that night.
