4-round mock draft sees Bills fortify defense

The Bills have added a lot to their defense this offseason and when the 2020 NFL Draft rolls around, Draft Wire sees that trend more than continuing.

86. Buffalo Bills | Troy Pride, Jr. | CB | Notre Dame

Pride has been a standout prospect since the Senior Bowl, where he turned some heads. With solid size at 5-foot-11, Pride has flashed his skills at Notre Dame, but consistency issues plagued his college career. NFL.com’s analysis of Pride says he could thrive with a team that runs a zone-based secondary, and that’s what the Bills have.

While the Bills did add Josh Norman and EJ Gaines to their secondary this offseason, those two have had injury or consistency issues themselves in recent years so adding a youthful prospect behind them could be a smart insurance piece for the Bills.

128. Buffalo Bills | Larrell Murchison | DL | North Carolina State

Murchison would have a tough-go making the Bills’ final 53-man roster, but perhaps he could find his way there. He’d fit as a depth piece in Buffalo’s 3-tech spot on the defensive line, but there the Bills have the likes of Ed Oliver, Quinton Jefferson and Vernon Butler already.

Murchison does have a strong drive and motor though, and worked for everything he’s got, going from JUCO player to All-ACC honors last year after grabbing seven sacks and 12 tackles for loss.
