49ers WR Deebo Samuel expected to play vs. Cardinals

Samuel barely practiced this week with rib and knee injuries. He is still expected to play.

The Arizona Cardinals take on the San Francisco 49ers Sunday afternoon on the road. While 49ers receiver Deebo Samuel barely practiced this past week, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, he is expected to play.

Samuel has been dealing with both rib and knee injuries. He did not practice Wednesday or Thursday and was limited on Friday. He was listed on the final injury report as questionable to play.

Even if not 100%, his presence on the field causes problems and mismatches.

Samuel has 17 receptions for 247 yards and a score through three games. Last week, in the 49ers’ 30-12 win over the New York Giants, he had six catches for 129 yards and a score.

In six career games against the Cardinals, Samuel has 29 catches for 372 yards but has not had a touchdown catch. He has, though, rushed for two touchdowns on five attempts.

The Cardinals and 49ers kick off from Levis Stadium in Santa Clara at 1:25 p.m. Arizona time.
