4 reasons why the Bills should ultimately pass on AJ Green

While Buffalo should take a look at Green in the offseason, ultimately, here are four reasons why the Bills should pass on Green moving forward.

The draft crop

This year’s wide receiving crop sports some impressive talent. While rookie wideouts may not be able to step in right away like Green could in 2020, their peak may exceed Green.

We’re not saying that a rookie can’t produce like Green right away. However, if the Bills feel they can draft a top-flight receiver who can produce at a high level at a fraction of the cost of Green, the team will select a receiver at the NFL Draft. Plus, at 32, Green’s career length isn’t going to exceed what a potential first or second-round pick would most likely be in the NFL moving forward. A rookie’s contract would be, at minimal, four years long at a much lower cap hit, as mentioned. Does Green even have four years left? That remains to be seen.

Alabama’s Henry Ruggs III, Clemson’s Tee Higgins, and Colorado’s Laviska Shenault are all great options for the Bills at the No. 22 spot.
