4 reasons why the Bills should ultimately pass on AJ Green

While Buffalo should take a look at Green in the offseason, ultimately, here are four reasons why the Bills should pass on Green moving forward.

Injury history

Green has missed substantial time in three of the past five years, culminating with a missed 2019 season due to an ankle injury. Green tore ligaments last summer, an injury that the team initially thought he would miss six-to-eight weeks. He suffered a setback while rehabbing and ended up missing the entire 2019 campaign. But there were certainly questions surrounding him missing the 2019 season. The Bengals were so bad, some speculated that Green just wasn’t going to risk another injury setback to play for the team that eventually landed the first-overall pick at the upcoming NFL draft.

Prior to the lost 2019 season, Green missed three games in 2014 with a toe injury, six games in 2016 with a hamstring tear, and seven games in 2018 with another toe injury.

That’s a lot of time for a premier player to be absent from the field. The team should be concerned if they wish to make such an investment in a player. Green is a veteran, and injuries start to become more difficult from which to return.
