4 questions for the Bills front office entering 2020 training camp

Here are four questions that Beane and company will consider ahead of the training camp period.

Dawkins has had a hold of the left tackle spot since his rookie year when he nudged an injured Cordy Glenn out of the picture. As a whole, Dawkins has been good on the quarterback’s blindside.

Dawkins has started 43 games in his three seasons in Buffalo. The Bills return all five of their starters this year. Three of their starters (Cody Ford, Mitch Morse, and Quinton Spain) are signed beyond 2020. The Bills could work toward keeping continuity among this unit if they feel Dawkins is the fit long-term.

However, that will cost the team. Left tackles are not cheap; Spotrac determines that Dawkins’s current market value is $15.9 million per season. That’s quite a bit of change, but if he’s this important to protecting Josh Allen, then the Bills may pony up that kind of dough.

It will all come down to how dominant Dawkins can be this season.

Last year, Dawkins was the 25th best tackle (both left and right tackles considered) via PFF’s grades.
