4 Jets who could see more snaps on defense in 2020

Which Jets defenders are poised for more playing time in 2020?

DE Nathan Shepherd

Shepherd only played in 20.98 percent of the Jets’ defensive snaps in 2019, but he saw a slight uptick in the final quarter of the season. Shepherd played in more than 50 percent of the team’s snaps in Weeks 13, 15, and 17 and finished with career-highs in sacks, tackles for a loss and quarterback hits during his sophomore season.

Shepherd still needs to prove he was worth the Jets’ third-round pick in 2018 and this season should offer that chance when he gets another year in Williams’ defense. There are a lot of linemen to compete with, but Shepherd still has potential and proved at times to be worth the snaps he received.
