MID-RANGE: LIMITING MINNESOTA ON THE GLASS
In the first meeting against Minnesota, the Gophers came away with 46 rebounds, which is tied with Iowa for the most Wisconsin has allowed this season.
Simply put if Wisconsin wants to win their sixth game in a row the Badgers will need to do a better job of limiting the Gophers on the glass.
In the five games since the Badgers played the Gophers Wisconsin has allowed an average of 33.4 rebounds per game.
In particular, Wisconsin will need to limit Daniel Oturu and Marcus Carr as the two finished with 14 and nine rebounds respectively. Oturu leads the conference in rebounds with 11.3 rebounds per game.
One area where Oturu was able to have success against Wisconsin was five of his 14 rebounds came on the offensive glass. Minnesota finished the game with 10 offensive rebounds, which led to nine-second chance points.
Although Wisconsin has had trouble at times this season in keeping teams off the offensive glass the Badgers over their last two games have held Rutgers and Michigan to seven and six offensive rebounds respectively.
Keeping that trend up will be critical if the Badgers want to take control of the game early and start to build a lead over a Minnesota team that is shooting 40.3 percent (407-for-1010) from the field during Big Ten play.
