3-Point Shot Wisconsin vs. Michigan

What are three things Wisconsin needs to do against Michigan on Thursday night?

3-POINTER: CAN D’MITRIK TRICE LIMIT ZAVIER SIMPSON?

D’Mitrik Trice has been one of Wisconsin’s most consistent defenders for the Badgers as he has consistently drawn difficult matchups on the defensive side of the floor.

Trice once again will draw a tough defensive assignment as he’ll be responsible for trying to slow down Zavier Simpson. Simply put Simpson makes Michigan’s offense go as his 13.2 points over conference play ranks second on the team and his 7.1 assists are tied for first over conference play with Nebraska’s Cam Mack.

It will be up to Trice to try and disrupt Simpson’s game on the offensive end. Simpson does lead Michigan in turnovers with 84 but that is also due to the fact that Simpson handles the basketball so much for the Wolverines.

Trice’s ability to keep Simpson in front of him consistently will help make sure Simpson can’t beat him off the dribble or set up one of his teammates around the rim.

Simpson over Big Ten play is shooting 42.7 percent (73-for-171) from the field and 32.1 percent (17-for-53) from three. Making it important that if Trice does keep Simpson in front he’ll have to settle for jump shots an area where he has struggled at times over conference play.
