Mum on DiMarco

Like the depth chart, McDermott didn’t have much to say about fullback Pat DiMarco being placed on injured reserve. But in this case, it makes more sense. DiMarco, a team captain for the Bills, might have a pretty crummy end to his Bills career. Since he was placed on IR before roster cuts, his season is over, and he was entering the final year of his career. Considering it was a neck injury, DiMarco might not play ever again, even.

“I won’t get into too much but I’ll just comment that on Pat overall, he’s one of the special guys that I’ve been around in my coaching career,” McDermott said. “He was here when we got it started and helped us get it started. Never want to see a guy going through what he’s going through.”

“I won’t go into detail on that, I want to be fair on Pat,” McDermott added.

Without DiMarco, the Bills will have Reggie Gilliam in the team’s fullback role. While McDermott still insisted that Gilliam is a fullback, that’s kind of just… whatever. DiMarco didn’t really have a very big role on the offense, anyway.
