Spread the wealth
The Oklahoma skill rooms have too much firepower and should stress Houston out by using waves of talent to wear the Cougars down quickly.
[autotag]Deion Burks[/autotag], Andrel Anthony, Gavin Sawchuk, Jovantae Barnes and Bauer Sharp should lead the way. With Jalil Farooq out for six to eight weeks, Oklahoma should involve some of the unproven guys on the depth chart: Jaquaize Pettaway, Zion Ragins, Ivan Carreon and Zion Kearney.
Houston doesn’t have the depth in the secondary to cover all of the talent Seth Littrell has at his disposal or on the ground with his running backs. Stress the Cougars out early and often.
Fight against complacency
For a team that returned 86% of its defensive production, fighting complacency and wanting to stack dominant efforts on top of one another should be what’s on their mind.
Last Friday’s performance was good, but can the bar be raised for this defense? Can that become the norm? Oklahoma’s about to find out, but if it attacks this with a humble and hungry mindset, it will be in a great position to dominate the competition and come out on top.
