‘Tis the season for college football predictions. It’s mid-June and once we hit July, it’ll ramp up even more. But it’s already starting with many of the national media sites rolling out stuff like all-conference teams, conference accolades, and more.
In the case of 247Sports, Brad Crawford rolled out ten bold predictions for the upcoming college football season, and you’re going to like what he believes Ohio State has a shot at pulling off.
According to Crawford — and remember, these are bold predictions — he believes the Buckeyes could sweep three of the big postseason accolades.
“Heisman winner, national coach of the year and College Football Playoff champion. Could the Ohio State Buckeyes pull off the magical trifecta in 2022,?” asks Crawford. “Considering quarterback C.J. Stroud is an award frontrunner, Ryan Day is 34-4 overall heading into his fourth season as a head coach and the Buckeyes are the most talented team in the Big Ten Conference, the conditions are ripe for this prediction to come to fruition. However, Jim Knowles and the play of Ohio State’s revamped defense will factor into two of these projections and whether or not the Buckeyes reach their maximum potential as the nation’s top team.”
Sign me up now. If C.J. Stroud does anything close to what he did under center in 2021 this season, and if the defense comes around under new defensive coordinator Jim Knowles, we like the chances of all of this playing out on some high-definition televisions and streaming devices this fall.
