2024 four-star safety with Wisconsin in final four commits to a Big Ten rival

Another top target commits elsewhere:

It has been a day of some of Wisconsin’s high-profile targets in the class of 2024 committing elsewhere. The first was defensive lineman Benedict Umeh, a top-100 recruit that committed to Stanford earlier this afternoon.

The second occurred moments ago, as four-star safety Kaj Sanders announced his commitment to Rutgers.

Wisconsin was a finalist for Sanders alongside the Scarlet Knights, North Carolina and South Carolina. The Oradell, New Jersey native had several 247Sports crystal ball predictions from the last week naming Rutgers as the clear favorite.

Sanders is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 388 player in the class of 2024, the No. 35 safety and the No. 6 recruit from his home state of New Jersey.

Wisconsin’s class of 2024 currently ranks No. 21 nationally after landing four-star running back Darrion Dupree earlier this week. Luke Fickell and company will now turn focus to the remaining targets on the board as the cycle continues.
