BOOM! Texas A&M has just received a verbal commitment from 2024 four-star forward, George Turkson out of Lowell, Massachusetts, who took a visit to College Station late last month due to a local AAU Tournament.
From a ranking standpoint, Turkson is currently positioned as the 87th-ranked player in the class and the 15th-ranked power forward in the cycle, according to 247Sports.
Announcing his decision during a 247Sports broadcast, Turkson’s relationship with Aggies’ head coach Buzz Williams loomed large on Wednesday evening, choosing the Maroon and White over his other two finalists, UMass and Northwestern.
Turkson is now the second Massachusetts-based prospect to join the Aggies’ 2024 recruiting cycle, as electric point guard Andre Mills announced his intentions on April 10, creating what should be a very exciting tandem for the future.
George Turkson, the No. 106 overall player in the 2024 class, has committed to Texas A&M, he tells me.
“The day I stepped foot on campus…I envisioned myself being apart of the Aggies and making a difference there.”

Turkson’s versatility as a defender in both the paint and the perimeter paired with his consistent rebounding ability makes him tailor-made to excel in William’s system. Why all the Massachusetts players you ask? A&M assistant coach Wabissa Bede, a native of Massachusetts, is a huge part of both Turkson and Mill’s commitments.
Congratulations, George! Gig ‘Em!
