2024 3-Star WR Ernest Campbell is set to visit Texas A&M in June

Texas A&M is set to host one of the fastest prospects in the 2024 class, as 3-Star WR Ernest Campbell will visit College Station June 2-4.

After Texas A&M went out on a limb to hire long-time offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino, it was a clear sign that the offense was growing frustratingly stale under the watch of head coach Jimbo Fisher over the past five seasons.

Now, while Fisher’s pro-style scheme will continue its mainstay in the running game, the passing game will see an infusion of spread concepts, and while A&M’s current wide receiver core is as solid as ever, recruiting for the future will focus on one crucial trait: game-breaking speed.

Within the 2024 recruiting cycle, one wide receiver prospect has stood out for the Maroon and White, as three-star Earnest Campbell may be undersized at 5-8 and just over 150 pounds, but after posting at 10.22 second time in the 100-meter dash, Campbell is a straight burner. The feeling is mutual as Earnest Campbell is set to visit College Station on June 2-4, joining a host of fellow recruits at the start of the Summer.

According to 247Sports Composite rankings, Campbell is currently the 65th-ranked wide receiver prospect in the 2024 cycle and the 78th-ranked player in Texas. During his 2022 junior season at Refugio High School, Campbell caught 35 passes for 597 yards in 15 games played while also running for 277 yards and two touchdowns, showing that he’s more than a track and field star, needs to add more bulk to his frame before he enters the collegiate ranks. The Aggies will compete for Campbell’s commitment against Nebraska, Colorado, Florida State, Oregon, Penn State, Auburn, and TCU.
