Aggies head coach Jimbo Fisher may not rely on recruiting sites as much as we do, but when it comes to 247Sports’ ‘Crystal Ball” predictions, the future becomes very clear for a number of future collegiate players as their recruiting journey comes to a close.
Within the 2024 cycle, Texas A&M has its sights set on a number of high-profile prospects at numerous positions, but at the linebacker position where depth will take a significant hit after the 2023 season, 2024 3-star LB Tristan Jernigan has become a priority recruit for Fisher and his staff since offering him in late February. After placing the Aggies within his Top 3 program list, competing with Oregon and Georgia, the Maroon and White have made significant headway.

Ranked as the 45th linebacker and 17th-ranked player in Mississippi, Jernigan took an unofficial visit to College Station on March 27, and while communication has stayed consistent between both parties, 247Sports analyst Steve Wiltfong has officially predicted that Jernigan will indeed land with the Aggies.
During his 2022 junior season at Tupelo High School, he led his team in tackles with 96, combined with 8 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks on the year.
