2024 3-star Linebacker Tristan Jernigan commits to Texas A&M

Texas A&M has received a verbal commitment from 2024 3-star linebacker Tristan Jernigan!

BOOM! Texas A&M has landed another big fish in the 2024 cycle, as the three-star linebacker and Mississippi native Tristan Jernigan has officially committed to the Maroon and White over Oregon and Georgia as of Monday, May 1. After 247Sports’ recruiting analyst, Steve Wiltfong predicted that the Aggies would land Jernigan early Monday, the exciting news dropped around 8:00 pm CT.

In a post on Twitter from Tristan Jernigan himself, the future College Station resident made it clear that this was the right choice for his collegiate playing future.

“First and foremost, I just wanna thank God and my family for everything y’all have done for me, I thank y’all for supporting me through this process and I’m ready to be an AGGIE. I’ve worked so hard for this and I’m proud of myself, thank ya’ll.”

A favorite of Texas A&M defensive coordinator and linebackers coach D.J. Durkin, Jernigan’s versatile skillset and sideline-to-sideline ability make him a perfect fit for the Aggies 4-2-5 defensive scheme where speed and tackling ability are critical for success, two traits Jernigan thrives in going into his final senior season at Tupelo High School.

Congratulations, Tristan! Gig ‘Em!
