2022 NFL draft: Giants still projected to pick 5th, 6th

If the season ended today, the Giants would be slated to pick fifth and sixth in the 2022 NFL draft.

With three weeks remaining in the 2021 regular season, the top picks in the 2022 NFL draft are beginning to take shape.

Even though the New York Giants are still somehow mathematically alive in the playoff race, they are simultaneously headed for the top of the NFL draft.

For the second straight week, the Giants are projected to pick fifth and sixth overall, according to Tankathon.

With the Chicago Bears losing on “Monday Night Football” to the Minnesota Vikings, they drop to 4-10 and their pick, the fifth overall one, goes to the Giants.

The Giants’ pick is sixth overall, which is where it was last week as well.

The Giants have a small chance to move up at least one spot next week, as the New York Jets, who have the fourth overall pick, could slide down if they defeat the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 16.

The Giants moving up and catching the top three teams — the Jaguars, who now own the No. 1 pick again, the Detroit Lions and Houston Texans — will be challenging since their schedules are not favorable for wins.

In the meantime, the Giants, with some help from the Bears, will be looking in the fourth-to-sixth range for their two first-round picks come April.
